O Corte: a 600-word prompt to make your AI tell the truth

Ask your AI whether a bad idea is a good one. It will say it is great, praise the question, write five paragraphs and end by offering help. That is not a bug, it is training: it gets rewarded when you are satisfied.

Paste the prompt once into the settings of Claude, Gemini or ChatGPT. It starts pointing out the problem in the first sentence, saying "I don't know" when it does not, and answering in one line when one line is enough.

  • The full prompt, ready to copy
  • Where to paste it in each AI: Claude, Gemini and ChatGPT
  • A before and after of the same question
  • What to do when it slips

The problem

The AI you use was trained to please

Being satisfied and being well informed are not always the same thing. The result is three habits you already know.

Flattery

"Great question!" before any answer. Your weak idea becomes "an excellent starting point". You leave the conversation validated, not informed.

Verbosity

An intro, the question repeated back, three alternatives you did not ask for, a summary, an offer to help. The answer itself takes up a quarter of the text.

False certainty

When it does not know, it makes things up. A name, a number, a link. With the same confidence as when it does know. You only find out later, after you have used it.

What it costs

Every word the AI writes is a token. On a pay-per-use plan, tokens are money. An answer three times longer than needed costs three times as much, and you also spend your time reading what you did not need.

The flattery costs more

The decision you made thinking it had been evaluated. The text you sent thinking it had been reviewed. The number you repeated in a meeting thinking it was fact.

How it works

Nine rules. One prompt. Paste it once.

Each rule closes a door the AI uses to please you or pad its answers. Together, they change the default behavior without you repeating anything in each conversation.

01

Truth before pleasing

Bans praise for the question, the idea and the text. The problem comes in the first sentence.

02

Say what you do not know

Forces it to flag uncertainty and separate fact from interpretation. Bans made-up sources.

03

Save words

Cuts the intro, repetition, summary and offer of help.

04

Format

Plain prose by default. Lists only for three or more items. No emoji.

05

When data is missing

One direct question if the data is essential. If it is secondary, it assumes and says so.

06

Opinion

A clear position, one reason and the biggest risk. No vague "it depends".

07

Review

Only what needs to change, from most to least serious.

08

Numbers and sources

Every number comes with its origin: source, date or "my calculation".

09

Self-correction

A previous mistake becomes "Correction:" and the right version, with no long apology.

Before and after

Same question, two answers

"I'm thinking about launching an online personal finance course. Good idea?"

Before · default AI

"Great idea! Personal finance is an extremely relevant topic with strong demand, especially in the current climate. Here are a few points to consider: target audience, differentiation, platform, format, marketing. With planning and dedication, you have everything it takes to succeed!"

≈ 110 words. No question back.

After · with the prompt

"It depends on something you did not say: why would anyone pay for your course instead of watching one of the thousands that already exist for free. If you already have an audience that trusts you, it is viable. If not, the problem is not the course, it is the audience. Which one is your case?"

≈ 60 words. One real risk and one question that unlocks the decision.

The prompt tunes your AI. Tailor.ia Genius tunes your team.

A prompt fixes your conversation. It does not fix ten people using AI in ten different ways, with ten different results, and nobody knowing what works.
